The brief
Make the useful thing the visible thing.
Terracotta Warriors is a hot pot and barbecue place where every table has a split pot and a grill built in, and a first-time visitor has to understand that before they will book. Give it a single page that shows the cooking first, explains the table in four steps, and makes calling or getting directions the one thing to do next.
Design decisions
Three choices shape the site.
- 01The first screen is the restaurant’s own footage with two buttons over it: call, and get directions
- 02The table is explained in the order a guest uses it — two broths, the plates, the grill, the sauce bar — so a first visit holds no surprises
- 03Nothing is invented: the opening hours say to call, and no review appears until the owner chooses the words
Real business, real site
Terracotta Warriors is a real client.
The site is live at terracotta-warriors.sites.webtaro.co.uk, and every screen above is that site rather than a mock-up.
